‘Fukrey 3’ review: ‘Choocha’ Varun steals the show in this laugh-fest

It is not always easy to make sequels of superhit movies. However, Fukrey 3 manages to maintain the flow of the franchise even without Zafar played by Ali Fazal. Fukrey 3 offers a great deal of chaotic fun just like its previous parts.

Movie Review: Fukrey 3
Poster of Fukrey-3

Director: Mrighdeep Singh Lamba

Cast: Pulkit Samrat, Richa Chadha, Varun Sharma, Manjot Singh, Pankaj Tripathi

Story: Honey (Pulkit), Choocha (Varun), Lali (Manjot) and Panditji (Pankaj Tripathi) reunite to contest against Bholi Punjaban (Richa), who is planning to become a minister in Delhi. Eventually, the fukrey-gang decides to make Choocha their leader and contest against Bholi. As a result, Bholi and co get irritated by their endeavour as she has ulterior motives behind participating in the election and hamper the gang in their mission. Meanwhile, the fukras discover that Choocha has a new gift — his pee is equivalent to petrol.  One might think that the gang would utilize this, but as we know them, they are bound to make things messy by their silly approach. Finally, there is an engaging climax- a perfect end to this comedy film.

Runtime: 2 Hours 30 Minutes

Pros: Fukrey 3 has abundant scenes in the film that crack you up. From cheeky punchlines to hilarious scenes, the movie delivers an engaging story. Needless to say, Mr. Lamba has directed this film wonderfully just like he did to predecessors of the franchise.

Varun Sharma as Choocha is such a natural in his character that he simply steals the show. The actor has portrayed the character of Choocha so well that you will surely think- nobody could have played it better than Varun Sharma. Pankaj Tripathi has such a talent that every time we see him on screen, he is hilariously amazing. It is such a delight to see him as ‘Panditji’.

Pulkit Samrat as Honey the leader of the gang, is very charming. Manjot Singh as Lali is as funny as ever. He is the sarcastic friend in this group. Last but not least, it is refreshing to see Richa Chaddha as Bholi Punjaban. She also makes her presence felt.

Cons: One can definitely miss Ali Fazal as Zafar. He could have been in the cast. The role is Bholi is not as influential as in the previous ones. The music is slightly less catchy. Apart from that, this movie is quite long (150 minutes)- that could have been improved.
